USA Today — Amazon is not yet making the virtualbox-based extension pack available in every country where it was announced, the company’s CEO said on Wednesday.
In an interview with Business Insider, Jeff Bezos also acknowledged the limitations of its virtualbox platform, saying it’s a very niche platform.
The extension pack, which is expected to debut in the second half of 2018, is Amazon’s first foray into adding more third-party extensions.
It will be available to customers in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, India, Singapore, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, and Brazil, Bezos said.
The extension packs, which are designed to support Amazon Prime members, can be downloaded from Amazon’s own website, the website for Amazon Prime Video and other services, or through third-parties.
The extensions are expected to support video, audio, and more.
